INFORMATION

I have been a tool maker and engineer since leaving school many years ago I did quite well and became foreman, then works manager and then started my own engineering business, and finished up joint owner of a thriving engineering business, Twelve years ago with the business going well I sold my share to business partner and decided to move on to other things in life. Owning boats all my adult life from speed boats, cruisers Then a narrow boat I decided to become a Boat Safety Examiner.

I went on the course and examined boats for over ten years while I was examining boats I realised there was a lot of people with no knowledge of the Recreational Craft Directive and a lot of concern, so I made enquiries and found a course I could go on to learn, I have now left boat safety and spend my time writing Boat Owners Manuals with help from owners who are fitting out there own boats.

Living in Sheffield I am in an area with lots of waterways and can visit boats quite easily, I normally visit a boat to meet owner/builder and sit and chat to him for a while asking questions, show him a finished manual and let him know the requirements, look around take photos and do sketches get all the details I need and then I can do the drawings and forms at home and produce a manual in a short time. Over the years I have written manuals for boat building companies and still write there manuals, if you are interested phone or e-male me and we could arrange a meeting.
